Past two days

The past couple of days have been somewhat eventful. First off yesterday we had the usual shennanigans at Warped, although attendance was unusually high, partially due to the DSVR mob plus Justine was up from Brighton. The Burlington antics were fairly standard—as always there was a group playing pool, another group complaining about work (just think, in 18 months I’ll hopefully be able to join them 😉 and then the usual mob on and around the comfy sofa.

After the Burlington we moved onto FAB, which was unusually quiet when we got there for some reason. Carling was off again so I had to make do with Carlsberg, which for some reason didn’t seem to make me feel drunk. Grr…

It wasn’t long before Lizzy got bored with the music (wasn’t really the kind of stuff that you can dance to), and dragged me over to go and request something more lively from the DJ (of course she couldn’t go and ask herself, oh no it’s much more fun to send me). Fortunately he understood my somewhat unspecific request of “something to dance to, erm, Birdhouse in your soul or something like that” and put on some decent songs that got people on the dance floor.

Most people didn’t stay all that long in FAB, and there was a mass exodus fairly early on in the night, leaving just me (I had a pint to finish, can’t let good beer go to waste!), Kate, Lizzy and Lucy. Relegated to the position of Bag Watcher, I stayed with the stuff and the beer whilst the girls went off to dance again, although Kate did come back after a bit and we had a laugh before I got the bus back with Lizzy and Lucy.

As for today, Kirk and I went looking for houses again and finally managed to find somewhere reasonable that hadn’t already been taken (yet). We’ve made an appointment to go and see a couple of places tomorrow afternoon so hopefully one of them will be within our tastes and budget.

Apparently I also managed to nearly choke Rachel before this afternoon’s algorithms lecture. She was drinking some coffee and I made a joke about the Lego Star Wars trailer that Sam was watching, at which point she just burst into uncontrollable giggling, resulting in coffee splurting all over her. Of course I got blamed for it…

  1. We don’t know if it’s reasonable yet!

I’m annoyed I missed this Coffee moment now.

  2. Well, it was in a reasonable location at least (i.e. not Rusholme, Moss Side or Longsight), that’s something…

The coffee moment was brief, one of those blink and miss it events.

  3. That looks like FAB to me, although it’s rather bright (might be the flash though). Was there a big green Ice Warrior on the side as you came in? Or a Dalek near the DJ?

  4. That pic is in FAB yeah.

I’m guessing its bright because of the flash like you say.

  5. Any chance of this site’s author learning how to write? Bland, monotonous puerility..the prose of the living dead. My advice? Consider a career in mainstream journalism. Fab.

  6. Ah splendid, another application of the “I still can’t think of anything to say to back up my arguments, so instead I’ll resort to insulting the author’s writing style” line.

As for mainstream media, I think you should consider a career working for the Guardian, that way you can spout left wing propoganda and get paid for it.
